Add visible page numbers to a PDF. Choose one of six positions, the starting number, and font size; apply numbering to all pages or only a selection.
4 simple steps
Page numbers make reports, study notes, and assembled scans easier to reference. DocFlip adds a new visible number to the selected pages; it does not replace numbers already printed in their content.
Choose a document up to 50 MB and 500 pages. The original file stays unchanged.
Leave the selection empty to number every page, or select a range to skip a cover or other unnumbered sections.
Choose top or bottom, left, center, or right. Set a starting integer from 1 to 100000 and a font size from 8 to 32 points. The page-count option shows the number and the last number in the sequence.
Save the PDF and download it. Numbers are placed 20 points inside the visible page edges; check that they do not overlap existing content.
DocFlip
Use numbering after merging or rearranging pages. A selected range can begin at 1 even when it starts later in the source document, or continue an earlier sequence with another starting number.
Select only the pages that need numbers. The first selected page receives your chosen starting number.
Place the number in a header or footer, with left, center, or right alignment. Position follows the displayed orientation of each page.
Use a smaller font for tight margins or a larger one for readability. Only Arabic numerals are added; the current page-count option uses a slash.
The numbering is added as text. Existing printed numbers remain, and the tool does not update PDF bookmarks or logical page labels.
FAQ
Select every page after the cover and use a starting number of 1. Only selected pages receive numbers; the rest remain unchanged.
Yes. Enter an integer from 1 to 100000. Numbers increase by one across selected pages in document order.
Yes. Enable the last-number option. With a start of 1, it shows 1 / 10 through 10 / 10; a different start uses the last number of that sequence as the denominator.
No. New numbers are added on top of the existing content. Choose a position that does not overlap an old number or other information.
Placement uses the visible page area and current rotation. A page that is too small for the selected font and edge spacing cannot be exported with those settings.
